Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 5 wkts | Lanka in WC final

Sri Lanka have defeated New Zealand by five wickets to reach the World Cup final on Tuesday. AD Mathews (14 not out) and TT Samaraweera (23 not out) took Sri Lanka home after the fall of fifth wicket in the form of LPC Silva.



New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first and Styris hit a resolute half century at the R Premadasa stadium but none of the other batsmen could stay long enough to give a final flourish to the innings. jantha Mendis (3-35) and Lasith Malinga (3-55) kept it tight after Daniel Vettori won the toss and batted.
